Our Story
Forty-five years
at the sewing machine.
Kathy Cayton, Master Quilter in Auburn, Indiana, has been at a sewing machine since she was twelve. What began as something her mother taught her on a kitchen table has become a calling and a small studio: forty-five years of stitching, one quilter, one longarm frame, every quilt hand-pieced from start to finish.

Kathy and her husband.
“She makes coverings for her bed; she is clothed in fine linen and purple.”
“She selects wool and flax and works with eager hands.”
Proverbs 31:13 · NIV “In her hand she holds the distaff and grasps the spindle with her fingers.”
Proverbs 31:19 · NIV “She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come.”
Proverbs 31:25 · NIV “Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised.”
Proverbs 31:30 · NIV
Kathy's story, to be replaced with her own words
[This page is reserved for the story Kathy is writing this week. The questions doc sent to her covers: how Proverbs 31 Quilts began, why the scripture name, the moment she knew this was her calling, a quilt she'll never forget, what she hopes happens when a quilt arrives at the customer's door, and the three words she wants a customer to feel when they see her work.]
[Two to four paragraphs of her own voice will replace this. The placeholder is intentional; we'd rather wait for the real words than ghost-write them.]
Kathy's mission
“If there are tears, I have accomplished my goal.”
Kathy says this often. Not the seller's usual line about customer satisfaction; something quieter. What she's after is the moment a recipient opens the box and is undone by the weight of seeing every shirt, every season, every Sunday morning, gathered into one thing.
Life verse
“For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
Jeremiah 29:11 · NIV
Kathy's life verse. Posted in the workroom; whispered before any quilt is cut into. The faith framing of the business isn't marketing, it's the actual order of operations.
